Snow White, imprisoned daughter of the late king, escapes just as the Magic Mirror declares her the source of the Evil Queen's immortality. The Queen sends her men, led by a local huntsman, to bring her back. But upon her capture, the huntsman finds he's being played and turns against the Queen's men, saving Snow White in the process. Meanwhile, Snow's childhood friend, William, learns that she is alive and sets off to save her.
Here we have another entry into the plethora of "fairy-tale" movies. I never thought I'd enjoy any of these movies, but at this point I'll take my fantasy flix in whatever form I can get them. This is really the first big-budget fairy-tale movie I've covered, and I have to say, I quite enjoyed it. But, then It's difficult for me not to like a movie with Thor in it..
I know, I know. I'm probably not supposed to like this because it has Kristen Stewart, It's fairy tales, its Hollywood, blah, blah, blah...
Well, I'm sorry to say I found it quite entertaining. The story moved along nicely without any big slow-down moments. The action was nicely done, the movie looks fantastic, and I had alot of fun.
Chris Hemsworth is awesome as usual, and I always enjoy Ian McShane. And, while Kristen Stewart does not have the greatest range in the world, she does fine here and she's very nice to look at, IMO. The rest of the acting is just fine.
The effects are fantastic and the film looks great. If you enjoy your Hollywood block-buster popcorn flick, you'll enjoy this just as I did.
Verdict: Quite enjoyable and recommended
